New Things Ahead!

Hello Conspirators!

It has taken a while to get things set up. But I am so excited to announce that I have brought some gorgeous Models that I am 3D Printing to the Roost!

It has been a goodly amount of time since my last blog post, and I hope what follows helps to show why. I will give you a clue, I'm too much of a perfectionist and things need to be in place before I can do other things...

This journey started a while back when I came across the Dice Heads Patreon, where I found they had a Kickstarter on the go. I fell in love with the Anamorphic RPG characters, and was hooked when i saw the Axolotls, as they are our eldest boys favourite animal. I had to have them, we tried a few years ago to introduce our boys to DnD, and they did enjoy it to begin with, but it got a bit tiresome for them and they were a little young for the full on DnD we were playing. The Zoontalis figures along with the Adventure Module would, i felt be a perfect way to try again as well as let them paint their own characters as they are less intricate than Warhammer models. Then I saw the Dice Holders and to get 2 or 3 of the Dice Head sets, it just made sense to get them ALL!

That is right, I have a LOT of models to get put up on the store. I have no regrets! Except that maybe I outfaced myself for a little while.

I mentioned in my last blog post that starting this webstore had been a steep learning curve, and yet I did it to myself again! There have been a few hurdles that I have had to overcome, from a slough of failed prints when I was first testing out the resin 3D printer, that sent me into a bit of a spiral. Next came my own head space issues from a passing comment from a local acquaintance that led to me feeling like, yet again, I was too late to the game. Then after getting over that I got bogged down by Analysis Paralysis and wanting to do things in the right way,

I felt a need to print everything and make sure it is just right before I put them up for sale... and starting that process was not smooth sailing either, with learning how to support model files, learning how to level the printer, and when i had failed print after failed print for a while I will be honest, I fell into a bit of a slump.

On top of that I had such a massive list of Models in front of me that I wanted to give them each their own description. Organising them into areas on the store, setting up the navigation to the best that I could, because I often found the way I felt like it should work and the way it does work didn't always align.

I also wanted to do bundles with options, so you could buy an adventuring party of 4-6 and get the Zoontalis RPG Module. I found this just impossible to set up and really felt like pulling my hair out over it.

However, thanks to my inability to let anything go, I came back round, changed a part on the printer, did a few prints for friends that finally came out right and we are back on a roll!

So I am finally letting go a little of my Analysis Paralysis, I am not putting everything up on the store all at once. I currently have a large amount of models from Dice Heads and a few other places such as the Adventure Cats, that I only came across only this week but Cats!! I had to! I have some terrain pieces that I backed on Kickstarter that will be coming to the store eventually but for those, I really do think I need to see how things do, I need to build up some money coming back into this store. I have plans, but plans need to start, and I am finally just at the start of this.

So thank you for being here, reading all this. I have other things that are in the works to help with this as well. But I am trying to consolidate how many pots I have on the boil all at once, but just having one pot boiling in my life is boring, lol.

Until next time, keep the Roost warm and enjoy your hobby time.
