Hello Conspirators
I hope you are doing well and this new year has been kind to you!
This year has been a bit of a rollercoaster at my end of things. Since Christmas I have moved house due to issues with the property we were living in so it has all been a bit hectic, but we have found a nice house and have settled in well. I even have a much more organised and spacious work area! It's great!
First off, some of you might know that I started this store with MaidensMinis to sell the Grimm Gripp Handles because we think they are amazing and wanted them to be easily available here in the UK and EU.
Between Christmas and New Year the amazing creator of the Grimm Gripp decided to take a step back from the front line to work on some unique and fantastic projects, handing the reigns to someone else. Unfortunately this has led to a breakdown in communications within the team. It is my infinite hope that the Grimm Gripp Hobby Handles have a bright and prosperous future, but right now my part with the Grimm Gripp is coming to an end. Maidens has decided to bow out from this store as well, so now it is just you and me ;-) and of course the support of Scarlet my amazing husband, my close family and friends.
Both Maidens and I still have some stock of Grimm Gripp Handles, Maidens is focusing on doing custom painted handles through his own etsy store using some amazing paints, his TurboDork Blueberry Shimmer handle is EPIC! Also I am still offering the stains that I feel help add that bit of extra personalisation to your handle.
Lets talk about the Cuttlefish Color Paints. Unfortunately I got very little interest in the super paints from Cephalopod Studios, so for now I am no longer offering to bring them over from Ceph in America to retail them from the UK, but if you do want to get your hands on them you can still order them direct from www.cephalopodstudios.net and I am going to continue to use them on my own hobby projects.
Store News
I have added a couple of new things to the store since it launched. There are now 5cm steel discs, Hobby Handle Anchors, and Magnetised Cork Model Holders.
The Hobby Handle Anchor has a self adhesive base and also comes with a cork disc, so you can either attach the disc straight to a surface or add the cork to be able to move your handle anchor disc about. This gives great stability to your handle both when you are painting or when your handle is placed to the side.
The Magnetised Cork Model Holders are just over 1cm high and work great just to give that little bit more to hold your models with to avoid paint smudges. The Magnets in the bottom give extra stability when you put your models down onto a metal surface, and they also integrate with the Grimm Gripp, so you can now swap your models easily when painting multiple models at once!! And because they are cork you can put your pinned pieces of models into them as well! :-)
So, that is a bit of a catch up of things here. I will have some more news to share soon that I am super looking forward to, but it is taking a lot of work setting things up. I thought an online store was simpler than a bricks and mortar shop... it really isn't and it takes some working out. It has been a fairly steep learning curve but I then again I love learning new things.
Until next time, keep the Roost warm and enjoy your hobby time.
